Too $hort’s Trip to Dallas Way Too Short.

I labored over whether or not to even write this review of rapper Too $hort‘s show at Gas Monkey Live on Sunday.
More than living up to his moniker, Too $hort managed to play a measly 38 minutes. And what made that fact even more puzzling was there were no opening acts.
After DJs handled the tunes for the entire afternoon at Gas Monkey’s Sunday Funday, I arrived a little after 7 p.m. to see the Oakland rapper who initially gained some fame in the 1980s with his X-rated rhymes.
First, I enjoyed watching people dance and have a great time listening to the tunes spin. However, DJ Jay Clipp was still going strong until after 9 p.m. By then, listening to him do his thing had lost a lot of its luster. I’m not sure how he never took a restroom break.
