SUWANEE, Ga. – The McEachern (Powder Springs, GA) Indians entered Friday night ranked as high as No. 2 in Georgia, but apparently the Peachtree Ridge (Suwanee, GA) Lions didn’t get the memo outlasting their visitors in a 9-6 upset.

No doubt, the consensus was McEachern would find a way to win against a Peachtree Ridge team that entered the game with an 0-2 record. Of course, those two losses came against an Archer (Lawrenceville, GA) Tigers’ squad that finished as the GHSA Class AAAAAA runner-up a year ago along with the Christ Presbyterian Academy (Nashville, TN) Lions – Tennessee’s defending Class 3A champions.

If Peachtree Ridge was a little undervalued entering the game, however, they won’t be when next week’s rankings come out. The bigger question, though, could still be how far McEachern falls after losing a game they were expected to win.
