July 7 marks 59 days to the start of the major college football season on Sept. 3, 2015. Every day leading up to kickoff to the 2015 season we’ll take you back to a photo from our travels last season, a photo that may or may not be in our upcoming publication, the College Football America 2015 Yearbook. The book will be available this summer through Amazon.com, iBooks (please download the iBooks app to purchase and view) and Lulu.com. When the book hits the streets we’ll let you know. It’s the most comprehensive guide to the college football season, with preview information on every conference and every team in every division of the game in a high-quality, all-color presentation. We hope you’ll check it out. Until then check out our 2014 edition at Amazon.com and iBooks.

SFA running back Gus Johnson celebrates after scoring a touchdown against Southeastern Louisiana on Oct. 25, 2014, at Homer Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches, TX. (RoadTripSports photo by Chuck Cox)
One of my favorite photos from a year ago, and I know it’s Chuck Cox’s too. Gus Johnson was a stud running back last year for our alma mater, Stephen F. Austin State University. Johnson ran out of eligibility after the 2014 season, but not until re-writing the Lumberjacks’ record books for rushing yards and touchdowns, along with leading the ‘Jacks to a FCS playoff berth. Johnson is now trying to break into the NFL with the Oakland Raiders, who could use a running back after losing Darren McFadden.
Check in with us tomorrow for our next photo in our College Football America Flashback.
