HUNTING VALLEY, Ohio – The University School (Hunting Valley, OH) Preppers jumped out to an early 12-0 lead in their effort to slay the high school football giant known as the Benedictine (Cleveland, OH) Bengals.
Unfortunately for the Preppers, their second touchdown sounded the alarm and the sleeping giant from Cleveland suddenly woke up and went on an unprecedented scoring rampage en route to a 70-18 win.
The Bengals crawled out of the hole by the end of the first quarter to take a 14-12 lead, but even they couldn’t have predicted what would happen next. Any thoughts of a University School upset quickly dissipated as the Bengals set a new school record for points in a quarter with 42 in the second quarter alone to take a 56-12 halftime lead. At that point, the final margin was the only question left to resolve.
